Halloween Water Conservation

No tricks, just (water-saving) treats
We’re getting in the spirit of the Halloween season with a quick, easy way to see spook-tacular savings on your water bill. Head to the bathroom to check if your toilet is haunted: Is it running on its own? Could it be silently leaking in the dead of night?
Toilet leaks are common, but may be silent and easy to miss. Checking your toilet for leaks can lead to monstrous water savings! Here’s how to do it:
1. Remove the toilet tank lid.
2. Drop one dye tablet, strip, or 10 drops of yellow and red food coloring into the tank.
3. Put the lid back on. Do not flush.
4. Wait 20 minutes.
5. Check your toilet bowl. If you see colored water, you have a leak. If not, you don't.
