Welcome to Clackamas River Water

"CLACKAMAS RIVER WATER PROVIDES THE HIGHEST QUALITY WATER AND SERVICE AT THE RIGHT TIME, RIGHT PLACE AND RIGHT PRICE."

 THE DISTRICT

Clackamas River Water (CRW) is a domestic water supply district that serves customers in Clackamas County, located in the southeastern part of the Portland metropolitan area. CRW was created in July 1995 following consolidation of Clackamas Water District and Clairmont Water District. Clackamas was originally formed in 1926 and took in the former Stanley Water District in 1979, followed by a 1991 merger with Barwell Park Water District. Clairmont Water District was established in 1959 and was merged with Redland and Holcomb-Outlook Water Districts in 1983.

  THE ORGANIZATION

Clackamas River Water believes that excellent service is the core of our business. Our informal motto, "Excellence on Tap" refers to the water we produce and distribute, the service we aspire to, and planning for the future of the district.

In addition to providing retail water service within its boundaries, CRW also serves Oak Lodge Water District and Sunrise Water Authority, as well as the cities of Gladstone and Milwaukie as a wholesale water provider. A population of roughly 50,000 is served directly (through approximately 11,000 service connections), and over 100,000 people are served when considering both wholesale and retail customers.

The area served covers approximately 60 square miles, including much of north Clackamas County, including the Sunnyside, Milwaukie, and Clackamas areas. The District's south service area covers the rural areas surrounding Oregon City in south Clackamas County.

The District's north service area is supplied with water from the CRW filter plant, which is capable of producing 30 million gallons per day from its water source, the Clackamas River. The south service area is supplied with water that CRW purchases from South Fork Water Board, whose water source is also the Clackamas River.

Clackamas River Water is composed of three business units: Water Resources, System Operations, and Administrative Services. Within these business units, CRW's staff of 36 employees perform all functions necessary to produce clean, safe drinking water, distribute it to the customers, and efficiently administer the water district.
